Example Cover Letter that gets Job – Cover Letter Templates

An engaging cover letter can make even your ordinary resume stand out.

But, how to write a great cover letter that gets you the job?

Well, the best way to understand this is by looking at examples of some great cover letters.

First, let us understand what to include in a cover letter.

What to Include in a Cover Letter?

Every cover letter in general has 5 sections in it.

  1. Header – Open with your name and contact information. You can mention your email address, location, phone number, and links to your LinkedIn profile or your blog.
  1. Greeting – Do your research and find out the name of the hiring manager and their preferred salutation. Address your cover letter to this individual in particular instead of using some generic greeting like “Dear Sir/Madam” or “To Whom It May Concern”.
  1. Introduction – Start the opening paragraph of your cover letter by giving your professional introduction and describing the purpose of this letter. You can include one or two sentences to explain why you are applying for this role.
  1. Body – Use the next 1-2 paragraphs to explain your qualifications and skills that make you an ideal fit for the job. You can also explain your career objective if it aligns with the vision of the organization or is relevant to your role. You should use bullets or numbers to make the information easily understandable.
  1. Conclusion – Take the final paragraph to include a call-to-action asking the receiver to invite you to an interview. You can use one or two lines to show your enthusiasm for the role or summarize the contents of the letter. End the letter with your name.
