Even writing a cover letter when you have loads of work experience may not get you the job. It is even harder to get a job with an entry level cover letter which do not have much experience to show. Although it might be difficult to get an interview with just an entry level cover letter, it is definitely not impossible.
Here are some tips for writing an entry level cover letter:
Opening Paragraph: Introduce Yourself
In the first paragraph, tell the hiring managers about yourself. Tell them why you want the job, what do you want from them, and what your goals are. This introductory paragraph also lets you mention any connections you have in the company, like if you know any alumni or previous intern. Or if you have come to know about this job position from someone or from some advertisement, be sure to mention the reference.
Middle Paragraph: Highlight Your Relevant Skills and Accomplishments
In the second paragraph, you need to mention your relevant skills and accomplishments for the job you are applying for. This paragraph might prove a bit challenging to you if you have no or little work experience in the field. But do not worry, you can tell them about any relevant internships you have done or important positions held in schools or college. Any training or courses that you have done may also be included.
Highlight your soft skills as well. If you have good leadership skills or great time management skills, this is the section in which they have to be mentioned. Show them that you are fit for the job.
Closing Paragraph: End with a call to action
Conclude with saying thanks for taking their valuable time. End with a confident and upbeat note so that it encourages the hiring manager to get in touch. Also, if you have any clarifications to make, do it in this paragraph.
